Job Responsibilities
The Associate, Employee Relations will play a critical role in delivering expert employee relations consulting to our clients. Key responsibilities include:
1. Employee Relations Consulting:
Provide expert guidance on handling employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, terminations, and grievances.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on matters related to workplace policies, employee behavior, and organizational culture.
2. Compliance and Legal Advisory:
Ensure clients' adherence to federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
Assist clients in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures that promote a compliant and fair workplace.
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and workplace incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
3. Conflict Resolution:
Mediate disputes between employees and management to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Develop and implement strategies to address and resolve workplace conflicts efficiently and effectively.
4. Training and Development:
Design and deliver training programs on employee relations topics, such as conflict resolution, performance management, and effective communication.
Mentor and support client HR teams in enhancing their employee relations capabilities.
5. Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, understanding their unique challenges and providing tailored solutions.
Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
6. Organizational Development:
Assist clients in diagnosing organizational issues and recommending solutions that improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
Support change management initiatives to help clients navigate transitions smoothly while maintaining employee morale and productivity.
7. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect and analyze employee relations data to identify trends, provide insights, and recommend improvements.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for clients, summarizing findings and actionable recommendations.
8. Strategic HR Support:
Collaborate with clients to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with their business goals and objectives.
Provide ongoing support and advice to clients on enhancing their HR practices and policies.
9. EEO Counseling and Workplace Investigation:
Conduct EEO and workplace investigations, ensuring a thorough, unbiased process and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
10. Travel and On-site Support:
Travel to client locations as needed, up to 50% of the time, to provide on-site support and consultation.
Adapt to various work environments and client cultures, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field is required. A Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in employee relations or a related field is required.
Certifications:
PHR and/or SHRM-CP certifications are preferred. The Associate will be required to become a certified EEO Counselor & Investigator within one (1) year of employment.
Skills:
Expert knowledge of labor and employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficiency in effective conflict resolution.
Excellent communication skills.

Location & Work Environment
This role is hybrid and the Associate must reside in one of the following states: CT, IL, MA, NH, NJ, NY, OH, or PA; and
The Associate must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $90,000 – $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
